Fly-in Walleye Fishing

Considered one of the top Walleye destinations in Ontario!

Beteau Lake Walleye Fishing

Beteau Lake, part of the Attawapiskat River, sits about 35 miles downstream from Attawapiskat Lake. Known for its incredible Walleye fishing, it ranks among Ontario’s top destinations. Its remote location and low fishing pressure make it a hidden gem. Unlike other camps 60 miles to the south, Beteau Lake offers a quiet, untouched fishing experience. Plus, with Ontario’s fishing regulations and our catch-and-release policy, the Walleye population stays strong, giving anglers plenty of opportunities to reel in big fish.

Weather plays a key role in fishing success. On most days, you can expect to catch 20–50 Walleyes. However, when conditions are cloudy, rainy, or windy, the fish become more active, and catches can climb to 50–75. Some skilled anglers even hook up to 100 in a single day! If you’re new to Walleye fishing, don’t worry—we provide easy techniques and guidance to help you succeed. Most Walleyes here weigh between 2–4 pounds, though 5-pounders are common, and some lucky anglers land 10-pound giants. The largest catch recorded? A massive 14-pound, 32.5-inch Walleye. Thanks to our catch-and-release policy, those trophy fish are still out there waiting for the next lucky angler.

In spring, Walleyes stay in shallow waters, just 2–3 feet deep. As summer approaches, smaller ones (2–3 pounds) move slightly deeper, settling around 3–5 feet. Meanwhile, larger females stay in 8–12 feet of water during the day but come into the shallows in the evening. The best fishing spots include river bends with currents, rocky points, and deep weed beds where Walleyes avoid pike. Targeting these areas will give you the best chance for a great catch.

Windsor Lake Walleye Fishing

Windsor Lake is one of the best places for Walleye fishing, offering both trophy-sized fish and high catch rates. With three large, connected lakes spanning over 20 miles, anglers have endless opportunities to reel in Walleyes. The lake’s rich waters make it a top choice for both beginners and experienced fishermen.

For those looking to explore further, narrow channels with steady currents lead to remote, less-fished lakes. These hidden spots offer even more chances to land big Walleyes in a quiet, untouched setting. Whether you prefer fishing in open waters or venturing into secluded areas, Windsor Lake guarantees an unforgettable experience. No matter where you cast your line, the action is nonstop, making every trip one to remember.

Walleye fishing success depends on factors like weather, skill, and effort. On an average day, anglers can expect to catch 50 to 75 Walleyes, while especially good days can bring in 75 to 100 fish.

Most Walleyes range from 2 to 3 pounds, but landing a 5-pounder over the course of a week is common. While the average size may be slightly smaller than at Beteau Lake, Windsor Lake still produces impressive catches. Some guests have even released Walleyes over 27 inches. The shallow waters make it an excellent spot for all skill levels.

In summer, Walleyes gather near rocks, weeds, and currents. During early spring, they move to sandy shores, sandbars, and areas with flowing water, giving anglers even more opportunities to make a great catch.

For anglers craving non-stop Walleye fishing, Richter Lake is the ultimate destination. Not only is the lake easy to fish, but its average depth of 10 feet—with a few deeper spots reaching 20 feet—makes it accessible for all skill levels.
